“Do They Have A Hallmark Card For That?”

As some of you may know, I was recently incredibly lucky  to have been “discovered” by an editor for the Huffington Post and in what has felt like something of a whirlwind, I am now a blogger and contributing writer for the website.

To say that this is a dream come true would be a gross understatement.

They were interested in syndicating my blog, but apparently my writing piqued their interest enough that I was also asked to write original content.  These were things that perhaps didn’t fit exactly into the usual topics I covered on here, and subjects I felt might reach a broader audience like theirs.

While discussing my good fortune with a close friend recently, she told me that she doesn’t think of this as a “special needs blog”, but as a “parenting blog by someone who happens to have a special needs child”.

That being said, this blog is generally about my experiences as a mother as it relates to Parker and Owen’s childhoods.  The piece that was published by the Huffington Post today “Do They Have A Hallmark Card For That?”, describes my experiences during childhood and how they have impacted me as a mother.

If you think you may be interested, I’m sharing it here in the hopes that it may be as therapeutic for others to read as it was for me to write…
