I’m a writer, a wife to my best friend Scott, mother of Parker – a six year-old delightfully precocious and inquisitive little girl, and the mother and CMO (Chief Medical officer) of Owen, a four year-old mischievous-grinned little boy who happens to have had a stroke some time shortly before he was born.
I have a weekly column on BabyCenter and my work has been featured on both Scary Mommy and the Huffington Post where I am a regular contributor. I have also been featured on AOL, am a regular contributor to Dot Complicated, and have been featured on PopSugar, Bon Bon Break, The Stir at CafeMom, Time To Play magazine, iVillage Australia, MamaMia, and the 28 Days of Play project.
I was recently honored to have been chosen as one of BlogHer’s 2014 Voices of the Year. One of those moments when I called my husband hysterically crying and all I could manage to get out was “It’s a good thing”, so he didn’t have to wonder whether it was the fire department or an ambulance at our house – it was at long last a good thing, and I was crying happy tears.
I am currently working on my first book, a memoir, and I became a published author when my work was anthologized in the HerStories project – fulfilling a lifelong dream to turn my writing into something more than just an excuse to buy more Moleskine journals.
I pride (embarrass?) myself by stating out loud what other mothers may feel but wouldn’t dare say… I often say that I am the luckiest woman, mom, and wife, in the world. Or I’m the unluckiest. It really depends on the day.
You can find me writing here at JamieKrugAuthor.com, where I tell the story of my family’s day-to-day struggles and triumphs in the wake of the devastating and still largely misunderstood rare diagnosis my son received at birth and you can also follow me on Twitter @JamieKrugAuthor, on Instagram @jamiekrugauthor, or on my Facebook page.
I would love to hear from you and always do my best to respond to every email as quickly as possible Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
